Intro to Watsonopolis

There was one who once said crazy things like, give your possessions to the poor, let your light shine, go to the ends of the earth, love God, love your neighbor, serve, pray, die and live. Those words, the words of Jesus, have gripped and shaped our lives.

Because of Jesus’ life, challenge and love we are propelled into an amazing life journey; a journey that most often finds us pitching our tent among the poor and those on the margins of our world, serving, living, teaching, learning and loving there.

Me & My Buddy

Last month, when gas was more expensive than wine, Lisa and I decided that the Watson's needed a second vehicle.  Not the most ideal time to buy, but we were starting to get in a pinch.  So, one weekend, while Lisa was out of town, I borrowed a friend's truck and Nathan and I drove to Nashville where I purchased the Watson's second vehicle.

I am the proud owner of a Genuine Scooter Company, Buddy International Pamplona scooter.  So for the past few weeks I've been zipping around Memphis on my fancy little scooter and enjoying the heck out of it.  I'll be honest, it was a little nerve racking at first (and to some extent still is) but its lots of fun.  And an immediate conversation starter.  Everywhere I go folks ask me about it.  Other scooter riders see me and we're in a club together.

I don't go on freeways or anything like that.  Just streets.  The smaller the better.  Tops out at 60 mph.  Not that i'm looking to get it going that fast.  And at 80 miles to the gallon, its a great on the wallet.

So far I'm loving my Buddy.

oh.. and by the way... I already laid mine down. Drove through water on a turn too quickly. Lucky to just get a few scratches. Be careful!

and there's more.. Davis got some ink in the Fresno Bee for riding his scooter! I'll have to show you the article when we come to Memphis.

That's great. And did you get the jacket at the same time, so you could ride in style? And how do you KNOW it tops out at 60 unless you try it? You never know, you might get to 65 or better, particularly if you crouch down real low. Give it a try. Let us know.
